The customs agent is the person who undertakes the professional learance on behalf of and as the agent of the proprietor of the goods. This person holds a customs clearance and a professional license granted to him after examinations conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Customs clearance is, in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations, all the formalities required before the Customs authorities for the movement of goods through Customs, foreign and domestic goods. Customs clearance also includes procedures for the handling of excise duties (VAT) on Community goods.
